We’re excited to announce a mission trip to Red Bird Mission in Kentucky! This is a wonderful opportunity to serve, grow in faith, and make a real difference. The trip is scheduled for June 14-19, 2026, and we’re currently looking for volunteers to join the team. Whether you have construction skills or just a willing heart, there’s a place for you! Led by Pastor Kathleen, will be studying The Disciple’s Path. We’ll meet in Room 24. Each session includes a short DVD presentation followed by time for reflection and open conversation. All adults are welcome!
Volunteers needed on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 9:15 AM, Lakewood volunteers will be helping with preparing and serving a meal and providing fellowship at the Erie City Mission, 1023 French Street. If you are interested in being a part of this important ministry activity, there is a sign-up sheet in the church lobby. Contact Lisa Medina at lmmedmex@aol.comif you have additional questions or are interested in helping. Volunteers will meet at about 9:15 AM at the City Mission (entrance behind the building). Volunteers are usually done by 12:30 or 1:00.
It is almost time for the 50 th annual Erie County
CROP Hunger Walk! The Walk is scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, September 28, 2025, and will begin at the Beach 1 Runner’s Pavilion on Presque Isle. Our team will meet at 1:00 pm at the site. Lakewood has a team registered online, so please consider joining or sponsoring our team. You can register and/or donate online by going to
www.crophungerwalk.org/eriepa. Donations can also be given directly to team walkers. Donation collection envelopes for interested walkers and additional details are available from Chris Paul in church.
Applications are now available in the Narthex. Applicants should be members of Lakewood UM Church, attending a college, trade school or advanced education beyond high school. A short essay is required with your application including information about (you) the applicant, your goals and how you will use the scholarship money. Please return your application and essay in an envelope
marked “Trustees” to the church office no later than the SEPTEMBER 30 th DEADLINE.
