Our pantry tries to provide one box of cereal to each family every two weeks. As a result, we need 166 boxes to give one box to each family. That’s 332 boxes a month! We hope you are able to help with this need!
The Men’s Group will be having a pancake breakfast following service on January 25th. Any donations will benefit the Red Bird Mission Trip.
Lakewood United Methodist Church has committed to providing volunteers for the overflow shelter during the evening of Monday, January 26, 2026. If you are interested in signing up to help, there will be a sign-up sheet in the Narthex. 8-10 volunteers are needed each night from 6:30-11:00 p.m. Volunteers may not need to stay the entire time, but people are needed to help check in guests, serve food and coffee, distribute clothing and monitor showers.
Lakewood will also be collecting clothing items for distribution at the overflow shelter. Items for donation include new underwear (boxer briefs for the men), socks (moisture wicking please), emergency thermal blankets (must be able to handle below 30 degree temps), sweatpants, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. If you are interested in donating any of these items, there is a collection box in the narthex or inside the main door to the church. Adult Sunday School led by Pastor Kathleen, will be studying The Disciple’s Path. We’ll meet in Room 24. Each session includes a short DVD presentation followed by time for reflection and open conversation. All adults are welcome!
