Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.

Our Ministries

Health Ministry

The Health Ministry at Lakewood is designed to help members of our congregation achieve wholeness of body, mind and spirit. Our mission is to  raise awareness of health issues and provide the appropriate resources and assistance to individuals of the church in order to improve and maintain wholistic health. Missions

The Missions Committee’s purpose is to promote and support missions opportunities for the Lakewood United Methodist Church congregation. The efforts of the Missions Committee include educating, informing, and motivating the congregation in mission outreach; involving the congregation in missions and service projects in the community and beyond; connecting to mission work being done by other groups within the church; and reporting to the congregation the benefits of its outreach.

Music

The  Music Ministry at Lakewood UMC aspires to use music as a means to praise  God. The Music Ministry leads the congregation through song and worship and offers the following opportunities to praise God though music:

  • Chancel Choir - practices on Thursday evenings, 7:00 PM
  • Bell Choir - practices on Thursday evenings, 6:00 PM

For more information please contact Jeremiah Bull.

Epilogue Group

The Epilogue group  is a fellowship group for those who have lost a spouse.

The group generally meets  for a luncheon on the third Wednesday of the month. All widowed men and women of the church and their friends are welcome to attend. Come and enjoy lunch and lots of laughter. Call Karen Mencer or visit our event calendar for additional information.

Sonlight Puppet Ministry

The Sonlight Puppet Ministry seeks to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through puppetry. The team is composed of youth and adults who are dedicated to sharing the Word of God with the church and surrounding community. If interested in joining the Sonlight Puppet Ministry, please contact Norma Buerk.
